WHERE TO STAY WHEN VISITING NEW ENGLAND AND FUN PLACES TO GO IN CONNECTICUT!
Valentines Day weekend, I had the wonderful pleasure of taking a mini staycation with family and being hosted at a brand new Airbnb rental, Serene Spa Hideaway at Villa Signor, located in Norwich, Connecticut! Looking to get a small break from your usual day to day life or just want a change of scenery? Consider a stay at the Villa!
After many long days of “mommying” with no breaks, I can definitely say this getaway was so needed. Prior to my visit, I’d honestly never in my life stayed at an Airbnb.
Now at this point, you may be thinking to yourself, ‘What?! What do you mean you’ve never stayed at an Airbnb?!” I have always been a longtime user of hotels!
Whenever I traveled, no matter the distance, my family and I would always book ourselves a hotel for the duration of our stay. But, staying at my first Airbnb rental was the most peaceful experience I ever had while on a vacation. Villa Signor felt like a very personalized and welcoming, family-friendly experience.

Where To Stay
Villa Signor is currently hosting 3 different villas for their guests!
Their newest of villas, Serene Spa Hideaway is the perfect villa for couples wanting some time away or even a fun escape with a couple of girlfriends. I was especially in love with the many windows, allowing much sunlight to shine throughout the day and the modern aesthetic that came with the decorations and color palette of the Serene Spa Hideaway.
What’s in the Villa?
The Serene Spa Hideaway has a variety of offers that make it special and unique. Starting with the basics, the villa is fully furnished with all you could need for a relaxing stay, including a lightly stocked kitchen, a wide common area/living room space, a small “office” space, a full bath, and king size bed.
Thinking of bringing a few guests along for the trip? The villa even has a couch in the common area that is fit for your extra guest to sleep!

- Supplied cleaning products, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap
- Paid washer and dryer accessible in the building
- Basic extra essentials (Sheets, toilet paper, towels, pillows, blankets)
- Closet storage space with extra hangers, clothes iron, and bath robe

What made our visit to the Villa even more unique was being able to relax by the nice warm fireplace and binge watch our favorite shows on the 50″ HDTV with Netflix and cable service.

Extra Room Amenities
Our #1 favorite part of the entire stay at the Villa Signor’s Serene Spa Hideaway was the in room fireplace. It really added to the relaxing vibe of the room and made the stay far more enjoyable, especially during these cold February days. Our super-host, Amanda, even provided us with complimentary s’more making kits to enjoy by the fire! Just outside of our room, was a beautiful view of the rest of the villa along with a beautiful view of the frozen creek nearby.
So when it’s a bit warmer out, guests can enjoy the New England outdoors on the villa’s porch and outdoor seating area and enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to the sweet sounds of nature.

Things to Do at the Villa
The Villa Signor is conveniently located near the Mohegan Sun Casino and the Norwich Spa. Whether you’re having a getaway with some girlfriends, a honeymoon vacay with bae, or just need a staycation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there’s something enjoyable to do for everyone of all ages.
The Best Places to Dine
Tao – Such a popular restaurant for some delicious Asian food!
Ben & Jerry’s – I’m sure we all know what Ben & Jerry’s is! Only the best ice cream, ever.
Frank Pepe Pizzeria – If you’re looking for a really good pizza pie, Frank Pepe’s is the #1 spot.
Krispy Kreme – I don’t think I can ever go to Mohegan Sun without making a pit stop for some Krispy Kreme donuts. The best melt in your moth glazed donuts you may ever have in your life, literally!
Seasons Buffet – I could quite literally spend all day here. They’ve got it all. From Asian food, Italian food, seafood, good soups, and salads, it all. A good place if you’re spending time with a group of people and need a place to suit everyone’s food preferences.
Chick-Fil-A – Okay hear me out, sometimes we just want a quick grab and go bite to eat and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy Chick-Fil-A!

Mohegan Sun Arena – From concerts to basketball games, it makes for an enjoyable nighttime experience.
Kids Quest – An engaging and hands-on cyber quest arcade experience for young children ages 6 months to 12 years of age. I remember going here as a kid and having the time of my life!
Novelle – The ultimate lounge experience from table games, chic cocktails, and delicious bites to eat.
Supercharged – A thrilling go kart and trampoline park experience to add to your trip and make it one to remember.
Spa at Mohegan Sun – Get in a little bit of self care with a good massage, mani-pedi, and don’t forget to take a dip in the pool and jacuzzi.

Check In Process: Check in was extremely easy with the Villa’s self check in keypad system. A code will be provided to you upon your visit!
Special Offers: A sauna, hot tub, and outdoor heated saltwater pool within the vicinity of the villa and the Norwich Spa, free parking on the premises. See something in the villa that you’d like to spruce up your own living space back at home? You’re able to purchase them at a discounted price by simply scanning the QR cards near the products! Coffee is also served in the mornings from 7 AM to 10 AM at the main entrance of the Norwich Spa along with daily afternoon tea, scones, and evening wine tastings!
